Purrrfectly Cute!!!

I got this book in the mail a couple of days ago. Since I brought it in, my son can't quit looking through it and cackling. At first I was confused with the setup. The book accordions out 40-something pages of kitty goodness. I didn't like it until I realized the book flap and front are set up a certain way to keep loose pages contained. I was thrilled (especially since it is easier for little hands if you tear them out)! You can draw on the pages, but most of them already have a little art and a connect the dot theme that is super cute.
I would recommend "milkshake" (or cream) gel pens to really see your coloring
since the pictures are more brightly or darker colored.
If you enjoy adult coloring books or gift books I would highly recommend I Draw On Cats.

but she’d like to have more

My daughter loves cats. We have a cat in our house, but she’d like to have more. She’s also nine and loves, coloring, dot-to-dots and activity books. So, when I had the opportunity to review I Draw on Cats: A Connect-the-Dots Activity Book, I felt like it might be an excellent choice for her to play with and draw on.
This book is a forty-eight page pull-out, perforated connect the dots book. All the connect the dots are done in multicolored patterns over real photographs of cats. You might find yourself creating a superhero, a doctor or a judge as you continue to connect the dots over the photographs. Some lines are already drawn on. Others are made by connecting the dots.
This is one adorable book. It’s full color. The pictures of the cats are cute, and they’re made even cuter by the drawings over them. I highly recommend markers or gel pens for completing the dot to dots. With most lighter mediums, the dot to dots might not be visible on some pages. At first I didn’t think I was going to like the fold-out perforated pages, but it didn’t take me long to realize that it was great for allowing more than one of my children to work on pages and for just being able to tear a page out and work on it. Best of all, my children all loved the book and wanted to spend time connecting the dots with it.

Cute but...

I love cats. I really love cats. So I'm always on the look out for cute cat books and giggled when I saw this one. It is cute and different. Some of the cats in the pictures are so adorable. Unfortunately, there is so much drawing already on them that it makes it hard to enjoy the pictures. The "dot-to-dot" idea is fun, but just a minor part in most of these pages and just way too simple - there is no "aha" moment when you realize what you're outlining as you move from dot to dot.
But I can see where it'd be a great coffee table book or something to have in your bag to play around with while you're waiting in the doctor's office or something. A little pricey for what you get.
